Mission & Vision

Protect nature. Preserve life. The Sattelmühle Foundation is committed to conserving forests and countryside as valuable habitats for future generations. Through targeted support of research, teaching, and practical application of close-to-nature forestry, we contribute to climate, coastal, and flood protection. Our goal is to support innovative projects and educational initiatives with resources and expertise that promote sustainable action and responsible management of natural habitats.

Target groups

The target group of the Sattelmühle Foundation comprises universities, universities of applied sciences, and other scientific institutions, as well as students and early-career researchers in the fields of forestry sciences, nature conservation, landscape management, and environmental protection. Funding is provided for research projects, theses (bachelor’s, master’s, dissertations), and practice-oriented projects that develop and implement innovative, sustainable methods of forest management and landscape maintenance. In addition, the awarding of grants and scholarships is explicitly aimed at students and young researchers to support and highlight their outstanding achievements.
