About the funder
The Department of Leisure and Sports of the City of Villach is part of the Municipal Directorate and is responsible for sports infrastructure, coordination and promotion of club sports, as well as the organization of sporting events in Villach. It publishes an annual sports club brochure, operates modern facilities such as the Stadthalle and Villach Climbing Hall, and serves as a central point of contact for children’s, youth, and adult sports. Through the Sports Subvention Regulation, it awards basic and annual funding, youth grants, event, and investment subsidies to non-profit clubs headquartered or with offices in Villach.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to sustainably support sports clubs and initiatives in Villach and to create diverse, high-quality offerings for all age groups. We particularly promote youth and junior development, strengthen social skills through team spirit and fair play, and ensure modern sports facilities. Through targeted funding and service-oriented support, we aim to embed physical activity and health awareness within the urban community.
Target groups
Eligible for funding are primarily non-profit sports clubs, sports associations, and legal entities with a predominantly sporting purpose that have had their registered office or a branch office in Villach for at least three years. Individual projects and major events may also be funded if they serve the interests of the population of Villach. The offerings are aimed at children, adolescents, adults, as well as people with disabilities, and promote intergenerational and inclusive sports programs.
