About the funder
Under the motto "Promoting Mental Health," the Foundation for Social Psychiatry of the German Society for Social Psychiatry (DGSP) was established on May 5, 2007. It serves to provide financial security and targeted support for innovative and sustainable model projects, civic initiatives, research work, as well as educational programs and professional events in the field of social and community psychiatry. The goal is to support initiatives that engage with people with mental illnesses and impairments on an equal footing, strengthen their self-determination, and improve their human dignity and quality of life. Funding for individual cases is excluded.

Mission & Vision
The Foundation for Social Psychiatry aims to secure and further develop the statutory objectives of the DGSP in the long term through targeted financial support of social psychiatric theory and practice. It is committed to projects that strengthen community-oriented care models, promote trialogical approaches, and place people with mental illness at the center. Commitment, innovation, and sustainability are the focus.
Target groups
Primarily funded are non-profit organizations, professional associations, and initiatives in the field of social and community psychiatry that implement model projects, research work, training and further education programs, or professional events. Target groups are particularly actors who actively involve people with mental illnesses and disabilities in planning and implementation, thereby promoting self-determination, human dignity, and quality of life.
