About the funder

The NiedersachsenMetall Foundation was established in 2003 by the Association of Metal Industry Employers of Lower Saxony and has an endowment of EUR 45 million. It continuously supports the mathematical, scientific, technical, and economic education and training of young people in Lower Saxony. The aim is to make STEM education tangible, provide practical insights, and support career orientation. The foundation is involved in numerous projects and networks, awards prizes, and provides schools and university institutes with financial resources for STEM equipment and initiatives.

Mission & Vision

"Promoting young talent – shaping the future": The NiedersachsenMetall Foundation is committed to inspiring children and young people for STEM subjects, imparting technical and scientific skills, and thus securing qualified skilled workers for the metal and electrical industry in Lower Saxony in the long term.

Target groups

The foundation's funding programs are aimed at schools (both general education and vocational), university institutes, as well as youth and trainees in Lower Saxony. From primary school to university preparation, the foundation supports teachers, pupils, students, and trainees in implementing practical STEM projects, equipping laboratories and workshops, participating in competitions, and career orientation.
