Stiftung niedersächsische Gedenkstätten

The Lower Saxony Memorial Foundation is a legal foundation under public law, established by the state of Lower Saxony. Headquartered in Celle, it coordinates the administration and memorial site funding in Lower Saxony. It encompasses the Bergen-Belsen Memorial and the memorial site at the Wolfenbüttel Correctional Facility. The foundation promotes research, documentation, and education on Nazi history and supports initiatives, projects, and survivor organizations. It develops educational programs, exhibitions, and digitally supported formats to strengthen the culture of remembrance.

The Stiftung niedersächsische Gedenkstätten aims to promote the research, documentation, and communication of National Socialist history in Lower Saxony and to preserve the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime.
