About the funder
The Stiftung Wanderjugend was established in 2000 by supporters and friends of the Deutsche Wanderjugend to finance exceptional, innovative, and forward-looking projects within the Wanderjugend. It ensures that good ideas do not fail due to lack of funds by providing financial resources for pilot projects in the areas of child- and youth-friendly hiking formats, environmentally sustainable outdoor sports, artistic and cultural leisure activities, nature and environmental protection, as well as international youth exchanges. Since its inception, nearly €30,000 has been distributed to various levels of the Deutsche Wanderjugend.

Mission & Vision
The Stiftung Wanderjugend sees itself as a driving force for outstanding ideas and creative projects of the German Youth Hiking Association. It supports initiatives that bring the guiding principle of youth hiking to life, strengthens voluntary commitment, and promotes innovative concepts to advance the quantitative and qualitative development of the Youth Hiking Association.
Target groups
All divisions of the Deutsche Wanderjugend are supported: youth groups of the hiking clubs, state associations, state working groups, as well as the federal level. Applicants can be member clubs and groups of the Deutsche Wanderjugend that wish to implement independent projects in accordance with the foundation's purpose.
