About the funder

The Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (TMBJS) is the highest state authority of the Free State of Thuringia responsible for the design and implementation of education, youth, and sports policy. It establishes the legal framework and operates comprehensive funding programs for all educational sectors – from early childhood education through schools to adult education. In the sports sector, the ministry coordinates subsidies to clubs, associations, and municipalities for recreational, competitive, and disabled sports as well as the financing of the Thuringia Olympic Training Center in accordance with the Thuringian Sports Promotion Act. Furthermore, it supports cultural and social projects, promotes inclusion and integration, and advocates for equitable participation opportunities in all phases of life.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to create the best framework conditions for education, youth, and sports in the Free State of Thuringia. We are committed to providing every child and young person with individual support and lifelong learning opportunities. At the same time, we strengthen sports as a public responsibility, promote social integration, and develop a diverse, inclusive range of offerings in education and sports that contribute to community strengthening and personal development.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (TMBJS) are aimed at schools and daycare centers, adult education institutions, sports clubs and associations, youth organizations, as well as municipal and cultural bodies in Thuringia. Projects and initiatives by individuals and institutions that contribute to education and talent development, social integration, sports development, or cultural diversity in the Free State are supported.
