The Umweltstiftung Rastatt is a legally capable, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Rastatt. It was established in 1999 by the city of Rastatt and the surrounding municipalities of Iffezheim, Steinmauern, Muggensturm, and Ötigheim to promote nature conservation and landscape management in the Rastatt administrative area. Since its articles of association were amended in 2011, the foundation has supported measures for the renaturation of water bodies, habitat design in fields, forests, and open countryside, environmental education, environmental monitoring, as well as species protection projects. The goal is to preserve the functionality of the natural ecosystem and protect native animal and plant species.
