About the funder

The Versicherungskammer Foundation was established in 2011 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Versicherungskammer Bayern. The foundation is dedicated to enhancing safety and strengthening community cohesion. This is achieved through the promotion of projects in the areas of volunteer work, civil courage, hazard prevention, life-saving, youth education, traffic safety, and fire protection. The foundation initiates impulses, facilitates cooperation, and creates space for dialogue and discourse. Its primary focus is on empowering people to engage in volunteer work, supporting them in this endeavor, and promoting their social recognition.

Mission & Vision

The Versicherungskammer Foundation sees itself as a catalyst for social innovations and particularly promotes new ideas and approaches through which volunteers address societal challenges. The foundation supports project sponsors in improving the conditions for their work and pays special attention to nurturing volunteer newcomers as well as fostering collaboration among projects across disciplinary and structural boundaries. Its goal is to empower people to engage in volunteer work, support them in doing so, and enhance their social recognition.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Versicherungskammer Foundation are aimed at tax-privileged corporations, institutions, and foundations as well as legally independent organizations engaged in the field of volunteer work. The foundation supports measures that attract and motivate people to volunteer, assist in the exercise of volunteer activities, ensure their long-term sustainability, and promote new forms of volunteering. Special attention is given to training, further education, and professional development that benefit voluntary activities, as well as the development and support of networking projects among providers of non-profit volunteer work.
