About the funder
The Werner Vyghen Foundation is a private foundation based in Cologne. It was established in 2007 by Werner Vyghen and recognized by the Cologne District Government. The foundation supports needy and disadvantaged children and adolescents both domestically and abroad. Its focus areas include education and vocational training, poverty alleviation, health care, as well as the operation of children’s homes and villages. All participants work on a voluntary basis, ensuring that funds flow directly into projects. Partners include, among others, SOS Children's Villages e.V. and the Association for Children with Cancer e.V. Cologne.

Mission & Vision
So that children around the world can laugh again, shape their own future, and simply be children. The foundation equips children in need with the necessary skills, a suitable environment, and the material resources to enable them to embark on a future full of opportunities.
Target groups
Needy and distressed children and adolescents at home and abroad. Projects are supported in Germany (including Cologne), Poland, and Peru. Assistance is provided to children's homes, children's villages, as well as organizations that help sick, poor, or traumatized children.
