Description
The Alexander Otto Sports Foundation supports nonprofit sports clubs, associations, and schools in Hamburg within the framework of the competition “104 Projects for 104 Districts” with grants of up to €20,000 per project. Initiatives that strengthen the Olympic and Paralympic spirit in the districts and would not be feasible without additional funding are eligible for support. A total sum in the millions is available to ignite enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Participating institutions must prove their location in Hamburg, provide nonprofit status documentation, and document their own commitment. Selection is made by the Foundation’s board based on the suitability of the project, the timing of the application submission, and practical evidence of prior work carried out independently.
Eligible expenses include the acquisition of sports equipment, investments in sports infrastructure, rental fees for hall times, trainer fees, personnel costs, as well as training camps and sports trips. To apply, the following must be submitted: a project funding application, a brief description of the organization, a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and upon completion, a proof of use. Disbursement of approved funds is possible until 30.11.2026. The Foundation values transparent reporting and expects participation in public relations activities. This program offers an attractive opportunity for organizations that wish to carry forward the Olympic legacy in all Hamburg districts with creative, inclusive, and community-oriented sports offerings.
