Description
The A and O Foundation offers ongoing **project and individual funding** in Hamburg in the areas of education, health, social affairs, children and youth, as well as research & innovation. Primarily supported are financially needy children and young people with disabilities and their families, but also particularly gifted young individuals as well as non-profit organizations and initiatives that implement inclusion projects and participation opportunities for these target groups. The grants are provided as **subsidies** and can be used both for individual funding needs (therapies, aids, training and further education) and for start-up and concept financing of non-profit projects. The scope and duration of the funding are decided individually by the foundation’s board.
Prerequisites for submitting an application are proof of financial need, a severe disability ID card or medical certificate, and for organizations, a tax exemption certificate. Project applications require a detailed project description, financing and budget plans, a description of objectives, and a list of other funders. Not eligible for funding are living expenses, dolphin therapies, therapies abroad, or assistance dog training. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis and exclusively by mail to Holthusenstraße 35, 22359 Hamburg. There is no entitlement to funding; all documents and forms can be found on the A and O Foundation’s website.
