Description

The alternative energy promotion for photovoltaics in Carinthia supports the expansion of renewable energies through a one-time, non-repayable construction cost subsidy amounting to 50% of the eligible investment costs. Photovoltaic systems on buildings used privately, publicly, agriculturally, commercially, or by non-profit associations are eligible for funding. Both natural and legal persons equally benefit from this funding measure, as it helps reduce acquisition and installation costs, thereby making self-consumption of solar power more attractive. Applications can be submitted after the completion of the system; companies exceeding the de minimis threshold have the option to submit the funding application prior to contract award.

A prerequisite for the grant is execution by an authorized company as well as the submission of a commissioning protocol or a grid access contract – this proof is not required for 100% self-consumption. Additionally, a metering point confirmation (also not required for full self-consumption) and further documents such as the application form, the current electricity bill or a consumption forecast, property value assessment (for farmers), as well as original invoices with proof of payment and specified peak power (kWp) must be submitted. The deadline for the complete submission of documents is two years from the date of application. Transparent documentation and timely submission ensure prompt disbursement and promote the energy transition in the region in the long term.
