Description

The initial funding supports non-profit sponsoring organizations in Vienna in expanding the fundamental educational offerings for children with disabilities in special education groups. The goal is to create new places or to expand existing institutional childcare facilities for children with special educational needs who must be cared for exclusively in specialized groups. A one-time grant of up to 250,000 euros per project is available to implement necessary investments within a funding period from April 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. Eligible expenses include construction measures and renovation work, sanitary and electrical installations, furniture acquisitions, as well as architectural and structural engineering services provided by trades such as bricklayers, carpenters, or painters. This aims to establish and secure a needs-based, inclusive care offering in the long term.

A prerequisite for funding is non-profit status as an association, non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH), foundation, or canonical legal entity with a location in Vienna, as well as a reliable contractual relationship with the City of Vienna and at least one annual financial statement. The supported special education group must not yet be operational at the time of application but must be opened in the year of disbursement. Required documents to be submitted include, among others, project description, educational concept, financial plan, cost estimates, construction plans, and proof of rental rights. Personnel costs, travel and transportation expenses within Vienna, as well as representation and imputed costs are not eligible for funding. The decision is based on public interest and direct relevance to the City of Vienna. Sponsoring organizations can submit their applications between April 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026, thereby contributing to the creation of an inclusive educational offering.
