Description
This funding supports comprehensive development concepts, underground and building substance investigations, as well as location-specific preliminary planning for previously unused or underutilized areas within the built-up urban area of Vienna. The main objective is to reduce land consumption at the outskirts and to improve environmental conditions and climate resilience through the reactivation of central areas. Applicants can be municipalities or municipal associations, as well as landowners and natural or legal persons (with the consent of the owners). Essential requirements are that the areas are located within the contiguous built-up urban core, are currently unused or not utilized according to their location potential, and that the application is submitted before commissioning the measures.
Up to 75% of eligible costs are funded for development concepts (max. €60,000) and investigations (max. €50,000), as well as 50% for preliminary planning of location-related additional expenses (max. €15,000). Eligible costs include services of external experts for feasibility studies, variant analyses, needs assessments, cost estimates, concepts for energy efficiency and climate protection, as well as preparation of geotechnical or emission-reducing measures. Own contributions, hospitality and maintenance costs, legally mandated spatial planning concepts, insurance premiums, fees, and taxes are not eligible. For the application, a project description with objectives, site plans, photos of the current situation, a cost estimate with financing plan, and proof of information or consent from the municipality or owners are required. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis until the budget is exhausted and offer an attractive contribution to the revitalization and climate adaptation of urban centers.
