Description

The "Training and Further Education of Entrepreneurs, Specialists, and Executives" in Burgenland offers a continuous funding opportunity in the form of non-repayable grants for external educational measures. Eligible applicants are companies, start-ups, as well as specialists and executives with a business location in Burgenland and compulsory insurance with the Social Insurance Institution for the Self-Employed GW Burgenland. Costs for external training and further education programs starting from a minimum volume of €500 net are eligible for funding, with a maximum of €15,000 per calendar year recognized as the assessment basis. The basic funding rate is 25% of eligible expenses; for SMEs, a bonus of up to 25 percentage points can be added in focus areas such as technology, digitalization, or commercial qualification. Large companies receive an additional up to 10 percentage points. Individual and internal training, legally mandated further education, and travel expenses are not considered eligible costs.

With this initiative, the Burgenland Economic Agency aims to strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses, support structural adjustments, and secure business locations in Burgenland in the long term. The funding commitment is made after review by a funding commission, with the decision taken by the Burgenland State Government. Funding applications must be submitted before the course begins via the online portal; all required documents – including permanent trade authorization and proof of social insurance – must be fully submitted within three months. Thanks to this targeted support, entrepreneurs and their executives in Burgenland can further develop their professional skills and secure the future viability of their companies.
