Description
The de minimis aid for education and training in Burgenland supports entrepreneurs, specialists, and executives in external educational measures with a non-repayable grant. Funding is provided to natural and legal persons as well as registered partnerships from the economic sector that have their main office or place of business in Burgenland. A prerequisite for application is proof of compulsory insurance with the Social Insurance Institution for the Self-Employed GW Burgenland and, for self-employed persons, exceeding minor secondary income thresholds. Specialists and executives must be in a fully insured employment relationship. Educational projects must be applicable across companies and have a minimum project volume of 500 euros. Internal company training developed exclusively for a single company, as well as individual training without cross-company relevance, are not eligible for funding. The funding rate ranges from 25% to 50% of the eligible external costs, depending on company size and orientation, with a maximum of 15,000 euros per person per calendar year. A bonus of 25 percentage points for SMEs and 10 percentage points for large companies may be granted for measures in the guideline focus areas.
Applications must be submitted to the Burgenland Economic Agency before the start of the educational measure. Within three months of application submission, all required documents – including the application form, a cost estimate, and a project description – must be submitted in full. The educational measure must be completed by December 31, 2029, at the latest, to enable the disbursement of funds. Evaluation and approval are carried out by a specialist commission, followed by the decision of the state government. With this funding, the program contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of Burgenland companies, promotes structural change and innovation capacity, and creates incentives for business settlements, company foundations, and takeovers.
