Description

The Styrian State Government provides institutional childcare facilities with a subsidy for personnel expenses to ensure smooth operations and high-quality care. Funding is granted to providers of crèches, kindergartens, and after-school care facilities that hold official approval and can demonstrate specific care needs. A prerequisite is compliance with the Styrian Child Education and Care Act 2019, which regulates, among other things, minimum staff ratios and specified child numbers. This support aims to strengthen personnel resources and secure demand-oriented services for children and youth in the Styrian region in the long term.

The funding application must be submitted exclusively via the electronic system KIN-WEB. Facilities starting at the beginning of the new childcare year must submit their application by no later than October 1; for openings during the year, the deadline is limited to two weeks after commencement. In addition to the completed application form, evidence of minimum opening hours, staff structure, and compliance with applicable minimum wage tariffs and service and salary regulations is required. Since October 17, 2013, the funding has been valid indefinitely and makes a significant contribution to the professional development of the childcare landscape in Styria.
