Description

The regional funding for Fine Arts, Design, Photography, and Architecture in Carinthia is aimed at creative professionals, cultural initiatives, companies, and non-profit organizations whose artistic or design projects have a connection to Carinthia. Funding is provided for thematic individual projects as well as annual programs, publications, and art activities in public and digital spaces. A focus is placed on digitization and mediation projects that innovatively convey contemporary positions in Fine Arts, Design, Photography, and Architecture. Both natural and legal persons are eligible to apply, provided they submit a detailed financing plan in a timely and complete manner and meet the requirements of the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act and the guidelines. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material expenses, publication costs, digitization measures, and art mediation activities. Construction measures and politically affiliated events remain excluded. The jury evaluates, in addition to quality and innovation, in particular the connection to Carinthia, as well as the economy and cost-effectiveness of the projects.

Submission deadlines are clearly regulated: annual applications must be submitted by October 31 (for museums by October 15), while project applications must be submitted at least three months before the start of the project. Following a positive approval, payment is made as far as budget allows, but no later than after the review of the proper proof of use of the previous year’s funding. Funded projects must be marked with the “Land Carinthia Culture” logo and entered into the event database. After each project, a financial and activity report including balanced original receipts must be submitted. Transparency and regular evaluation ensure that the funding sustainably contributes to strengthening cultural diversity in the state of Carinthia and sets forward-looking impulses for art and design in the Alpine-Adriatic region.
