Description
The EU is funding a 36-month Horizon Europe cooperation project to establish and operate a Bioeconomy Policy Support Hub, aimed at effectively advising public institutions, companies, and non-profit organizations across all 27 EU member states in the development and implementation of forward-looking bioeconomy policies. With a funding amount of up to €3 million (100% funding rate), personnel, material, travel, subcontractor costs, and necessary consultancy expenses will be covered. Eligible applicants are legal entities based in EU member states or associated countries with proven experience in policy advice, strategic planning, or bioeconomy. The Hub will provide innovative tools, establish best-practice platforms, and offer direct advisory services. The objective is to strengthen sustainable bioeconomic value chains and support policymakers at the EU, national, and regional levels with tailored roadmaps, policy labs, and monitoring tools.
The consortium, consisting of at least three independent partners including a coordinator from an EU member state, will be selected based on clear evaluation criteria (innovation content, professional quality, methodology, exploitation, and networking). Required documents include a cover letter, project description, financial plan, CVs of key personnel, and a market consultation report. The online application (single-stage) must be submitted via the Funding & Tenders Portal by 17 September 2026. The Hub will create synergies with initiatives such as the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking and relevant Horizon Europe projects to continue results beyond the project’s end. This initiative equally strengthens research, innovation, digital tools, advisory services, and training, making a decisive contribution to the EU’s sustainability and climate objectives.
