Description

The Brandenburg Loan for Age-Appropriate Renovations offers low-interest loan financing for barrier-reducing modernization measures in rental apartments and rental buildings in Brandenburg. With a repayment grant of up to 5% on the KfW loan amount and a maximum subsidy of €50,000 per housing unit, projects can be covered up to 100% of the investment costs including incidental expenses. The goal is to create barrier-reduced and affordable rental housing that meets the requirements of DIN 18040-2 and the KfW standard "Age-Appropriate Apartment/Age-Appropriate House," thereby making an active contribution to managing demographic change.

Eligible for funding are municipal housing companies, housing cooperatives, and private investors in the housing sector who wish to carry out modifications to entrances, pathways, sanitary facilities, elevators, or room geometries. Measures in residential, elderly, and nursing homes, holiday and weekend homes, as well as refinancing of already completed projects, are not eligible. A prerequisite for approval is the submission of the application before the start of the project to the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg and compliance with the specified technical minimum requirements. The application requires a cost breakdown, design plans, calculation of living space, land register excerpt, cadastral documents, a PEP declaration, and proof of equity and income conditions.
