Description
The Bürgerstiftung Berlin offers a fully funded, supplementary learning support program for primary school students from financially disadvantaged families as part of the Education and Participation Package (BuT). The aim of the program is to identify and compensate for individual educational deficits at an early stage in order to ensure equal starting opportunities. Up to 180 minutes per week are conducted in small learning groups of no more than six children directly at the schools by qualified professionals. The support is tailored to the personal learning needs of the participants and promotes both subject-specific skills as well as self-confidence and motivation to learn. Public and educational institutions in Berlin can continuously submit applications and thus benefit from this measure promptly.
For the application, schools must provide a valid Berlinpass-BuT and submit the supplementary learning support form provided by the Senate Administration through the school management. The funding rate is 100%, so neither schools nor families incur any costs. The measure extends over a period of up to twelve months and can be reapplied for at any time. Through close coordination with teachers and implementation close to the school, gaps in the learning process are reliably closed. Interested institutions can discuss the specific framework conditions in an initial consultation and plan the process together with the Bürgerstiftung Berlin. In doing so, the program makes a sustainable contribution to equal opportunities and supports primary school students in learning successfully over the long term.
