Description
The complementary funding "100% WLAN Strategy" of the Free State of Bavaria supports inpatient and outpatient care facilities according to § 71 SGB XI with one-time grants to accelerate digitalization. The goal is to reduce the financial burden on the facilities and significantly lower the costs for those in need of care. A total of 15 million euros is available for this purpose, supplementing the federal funding. Up to 12,000 euros per facility or a maximum of 40% of the documented expenses will be covered. All care facilities operating in Bavaria are eligible for funding—regardless of sponsorship or company size—provided they can present a funding notice from the care fund according to § 8 para. 8 SGB XI (issued from 01.04.2025).
One-time purchases of digital and technical equipment, commissioning costs including licenses, as well as training and further education in digital competencies are funded. Submission of a DAWI De-minimis declaration to comply with state aid regulations is a prerequisite. Applications can be submitted electronically to the Bavarian State Office for Care from May 1, 2025, as long as funds are available. For the final disbursement, an invoice audited by the care fund is required, which also serves as proof of use. With this grant, the facilities' own contribution is reduced from 60% to 20%, effectively promoting investments in IT infrastructure, internal quality management systems, and digital communication between caregivers and those in need of care.
