Description
The funding supports mobile interpreting services provided in the federal state of Tyrol and is aimed at individuals with hearing impairments as well as deafblind persons. Sign language interpreting, speech-to-text interpreting, relay interpreting, and Lorm are funded to ensure barrier-free communication in everyday life, work, and social contexts. The goal is to strengthen social participation through professional translation services between spoken, written, and tactile forms of communication. The grants cover requested interpreting hours, with approval possible for a maximum of 60 months, and applications can be submitted continuously. Service billing is based on verified interpreting hours.
Interested persons with Austrian citizenship or equivalent status and primary residence in Tyrol must provide proof of hearing impairment according to § 3 lit. a TTHG as well as the completed application form. A prerequisite is also the prospect of a noticeable improvement in participation in social life and active cooperation during the application and implementation process. Applications can be submitted at any time; services are granted no earlier than the month of application submission. For the application, the form according to TTHG and proof of disability must be submitted. The Department of Inclusion and Child and Youth Welfare of the State of Tyrol reviews applications and coordinates service approvals to ensure equal communication between people with and without hearing impairments.
