Description
The EFRE Bavaria funding program – Intercompany Training Centers for Securing Skilled Labor in SMEs supports the expansion, modernization, and equipping of intercompany vocational training and technology centers in Bavaria. Public institutions and non-profit organizations, particularly chambers of crafts, chambers of industry and commerce, as well as guilds and professional associations, can apply for grants as sponsors of intercompany apprentice training. The goal is to provide modern learning environments nationwide that familiarize trainees with forward-looking technologies and contemporary pedagogical concepts. This imparts cross-sector practical qualifications that go beyond training within individual companies and sustainably secure the innovation and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Funding covers construction costs, modernization expenses, and equipment costs for workshops, training rooms, and technical infrastructure. Selection is made through a transparent evaluation process: the specific need and relevance of the project for securing skilled labor in the region, as well as economic plausibility, are assessed. A positive decision by the EFRE steering committee is a prerequisite for funding. Since continuous funding is possible, projects can be submitted and planned on an ongoing basis. The program thus makes a decisive contribution to strengthening the training landscape and optimally preparing future skilled workers for the requirements of regional SMEs.
