Installation of Soundproof Windows in Apartments - Investment Grant

The investment grant for the installation of soundproof and thermal insulation windows in existing apartments in Vienna supports private owners as well as tenants in enhancing living comfort and sustainably reducing noise levels. Up to 35% of the verified and reasonable delivery and installation costs for window replacement measures in living spaces adjacent to main traffic roads (Category A and B) are funded. Applications can be submitted at any time and are aimed at apartments with an area of 22 to 150 m² in buildings at least 20 years old. Own labor and the purchase of materials alone are excluded to ensure that the subsidy exclusively rewards qualified professional work. The objective of the measure is to simultaneously reduce heat loss and raise the sound insulation to an insulation standard of at least an R-value of 43 dB in the installed condition.

For the approval of the grant, a cost estimate and invoice must be submitted, not older than six months, containing all relevant information on U-value (≤ 1.00 W/m²K), material, color, dimensions, number of sashes, glazing bars, and sill cover. Rental apartments also require a consent declaration from the property owners, municipal apartments the approval of Wiener Wohnen, and condominiums a current land register excerpt. In protected zones or listed buildings, a building permit from MA 37 may need to be provided. Through these clearly defined prerequisites and the attractive funding share, the initiative offers a straightforward opportunity to efficiently implement sustainable modernization projects in residential buildings in Vienna.
