Command Vehicle 2 according to DIN SPEC 14 507-3 for the Local Incident Command Support Group

The Free State of Bavaria provides funding with a fixed amount of up to €210,000 (or €211,000 including an optional satellite system) for the acquisition of Command Vehicles 2 (ELW 2) according to DIN SPEC 14507-3. The objective of this grant is to specifically strengthen local command capabilities in disaster management through modern and technically compliant vehicles. Municipalities and voluntary aid organizations thus receive a reliable infrastructure to act quickly and coordinatively in major damage situations. The funding is provided as a subsidy and is available indefinitely, allowing interested parties to submit applications to the responsible regional government authorities throughout the year. Eligible expenses include the pure procurement costs of the ELW 2 as well as, optionally, the installation of a satellite system for secure communication in remote operational areas.

Beneficiaries are public institutions and non-profit organizations from Bavaria that are active in disaster management and, per district or independent city, generally apply for one ELW 2 or a roll-off container for the Local Command Support Group. The technical requirements are based on the Disaster Management Funding Guidelines (DIN SPEC 14507-3). A formal funding application is sufficient to initiate the procedure; the decision is made by the respective regional government authority. This measure aims to increase comprehensive operational readiness and further professionalize coordination in emergency situations.
