Description

In Burgenland, continuous funding is offered for extracurricular youth work, primarily open to young people up to the age of 30, youth organizations, as well as individuals and youth workers. Financial grants support a wide range of measures: these include courses, seminars, workshops, cultural activities and events, as well as publications, youth camps, and scientific research assignments. Special focus areas include environmental and nature conservation projects, addiction prevention, contributions to sex education, as well as training and further education for youth workers. Applications can be submitted online at any time to the Burgenland State Youth Department and should be submitted before the project begins or at the latest six months after completion.

For a successful application, a detailed project description, a financing plan, and an income-expenditure statement including a list of receipts must be provided. Eligible for reimbursement are, among other things, costs for courses and seminars, expenses for workshops, publications, event costs, as well as expenditures for youth camps and environmental initiatives. A prerequisite for funding is adherence to democratic principles: organizations must have young members and declare their commitment to the constitution; municipalities require an appointed municipal youth officer. After the project ends, proof of use must be submitted in the form of a final filing of invoices and payment receipts. This funding offer from the state aims to strengthen commitment and professional competence in extracurricular youth work and to enable sustainable, democracy-promoting educational processes.
