Description
The Aktion Hilfe für Kinder Foundation provides nationwide, unbureaucratic grants for individual support needs of children and adolescents up to the age of 21. In particular, families with limited financial means as well as young people with disabilities benefit from this case-by-case assistance, which aims to remove everyday barriers and enable equal participation in society. Funding is provided, among other things, for special and alternative therapies not covered by health insurance, the acquisition of specialized technology and aids, as well as measures for social integration when participation in social life would otherwise be at risk. Prerequisites for an application are proof of financial need, a medical report, and an application for a project yet to be realized – retroactive funding is excluded.
Applications can be submitted at any time via an online form; the association’s advisory board decides on received requests every two months. Key evaluation criteria include the degree of need, the family’s financial situation, and the appropriateness of the total costs. Excluded from funding are surgeries, home and building renovations, Christmas or car assistance, dolphin therapies, and fees for money transfers abroad. A complete application includes, in addition to the electronic application form, medical certificates, proof of financing, the child protection guideline, as well as consents for the publication of images and for impact verification. These continuously available funds ensure prompt and targeted assistance to sustainably support young people in their development.
