Description

The funding initiative is aimed at local authorities, public law corporations, and non-profit legal entities based in rural regions of Carinthia. Investments in social service facilities such as early childhood education and care centers (especially for children under three years), nursing facilities, services for people in special emergency situations, as well as psychosocial, social psychiatric, and psychiatric care structures—particularly for children and adolescents—are supported. The goal is to strengthen decentralized, flexible, and high-quality public services that contribute to improved compatibility of family, work, and private life. With a total budget of approximately 3.5 million euros, projects can be applied for that implement a nearly zero-energy building standard and have costs up to a maximum of 5 million euros. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant of 65% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum amount of 3,250,000 euros.

Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2027 in multiple selection rounds; the earliest project start date is October 1, 2023. Eligible are tangible and intangible investment costs as well as planning and consulting costs, while personnel costs and non-cash own contributions are excluded. The decisive criteria for project evaluation are qualitative content, rural orientation, and contribution to the compatibility of family and work. Submission is made electronically via the platform www.eama.at following the official call publication. Applicants must include a project concept, a financing plan, proof of location in the rural area of Carinthia, as well as proof of compliance with the nearly zero-energy building standard and provide all relevant construction documentation.
