Description

The Free State of Bavaria supports the procurement of command vehicles (ELW) for the Medical Operations Support Group (SanEL) within the framework of the disaster control funding guidelines, in order to sustainably strengthen operational capability in Bavarian districts and independent cities. Public institutions and non-profit organizations, especially voluntary aid organizations, may each apply for one ELW per area. The grant covers 100% of the eligible costs amounting to 165,000 euros, or 166,000 euros if a satellite system is installed. Funding is provided for both the vehicle itself and the satellite-based communication technology to equip the command unit in disaster situations with reliable data and voice transmission. Technical requirements and further details can be found in the legal provisions of the disaster control funding guidelines.

The application process takes place annually by May 15 through the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration, and the responsible government authorities, which, in coordination with state associations of voluntary aid organizations, determine the eligible entities. A simple online funding application is sufficient to initiate the funding request. The objective of this measure is to significantly improve the communication and coordination capabilities of the Medical Operations Support Group in emergencies and casualty collection points, thereby effectively supporting disaster response. This funding ensures that all Bavarian regions equally benefit from modern command technology and can optimize their operational structures in the long term.
