Emsland Quality Seal for Family Friendliness (Certification)

The Emsland quality seal for family-friendliness offers small and medium-sized enterprises as well as municipal institutions in the Emsland district a comprehensive certification for the systematic development of family-conscious personnel models. The goal is the sustainable improvement of the compatibility of work and family life and the promotion of equal opportunities in professional life. Participation is continuously possible, with a completed registration form serving as the formal basis for the process. The Emsland Foundation "Work and Family" supports applicants from the initial assessment to the ceremonial awarding of the quality seal for three years.

The certification process is divided into three stages: In an initial workshop, business coaches jointly identify strengths and areas for improvement together with the employees. Based on individually agreed measures, the evaluation and awarding of the quality seal take place. Progress is reviewed during follow-up consultations after nine and 18 months. Three years after the initial award, a re-certification takes place, followed by a "renewal procedure" that ensures consistent further development. For particularly committed organizations, a distinction certification follows, during which role models for the region are qualified. Additionally, regular workshops and networking events promote exchange among the certified participants and strengthen the regional community of family-friendly employers.
