Description
Energy Efficiency Brandenburg (2024) promotes the energy-related modernization of commercial and industrial facilities as well as processes in the state of Brandenburg. The focus is on measures identified within the framework of an energy audit according to DIN EN 16247 or based on a certified energy/environmental management system. Eligible costs include investment expenses starting from EUR 50,000, planning and engineering services, as well as installation and assembly costs. The measures must achieve a reduction in final energy consumption of at least 15% and an annual minimum saving of 5 tons of CO₂ equivalent. Leasing and rental costs, vehicles with road approval, used assets, and financing costs are not eligible. Funding is provided as a grant with a rate of 15 to 27.5% and a subsidy of up to EUR 1,200 per ton of CO₂ equivalent saved. The guideline came into effect on May 9, 2024; applications can be submitted until June 30, 2027. The project duration is a maximum of 18 months.
The program targets small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector as well as municipal energy supply companies (public utilities) with headquarters or branches in Brandenburg. Selection is based on the criteria of energy saving potential, CO₂ reduction, economic efficiency, level of innovation, and relevance for SMEs. Required documents for application include, among others, the audit or management system report, energy indicator calculations, public-law permits, and proof of ownership. Approval and disbursement are conducted via the ILB customer portal, with transparency and communication measures required in accordance with ERDF/award guidelines. The funding program supports the goal of reducing energy consumption, lowering CO₂ emissions, and advancing Brandenburg’s climate neutrality by 2050.
