Description
The Inventors' Workshop of the Children's Academy Fulda invites three third-grade classes to a free, one-week STEM adventure in Hesse. Under the guidance of the experienced KAF team, the participants relocate their lessons for four morning hours each day to the Academy's interactive workshops. There, they explore the history of urban development in an age-appropriate manner, conduct experiments on renewable energies, build electrical circuits, and discover the basics of electromagnetism. This hands-on approach promotes technical understanding as well as manual skills, stimulates logical thinking, and sparks enthusiasm for STEM careers in crafts and industry.
Applications for the ongoing workshop program are accepted at any time. The selection of participating classes is made by lottery to give all educational institutions a fair chance. At the end of each workshop week, the children document their findings in a research journal and take enhanced scientific and technical competencies back to their everyday school life. The Children's Academy Fulda thus sends a clear signal for digitalization, research, and innovation in primary education and opens up exciting perspectives on scientific and technical contexts to young explorers at an early stage.
