Description
The funding initiative of the State of Tyrol for the establishment of regional and multifunctional sports infrastructure facilities is aimed at non-profit organizations that operate sports venues and are majority publicly owned. Projects with a minimum volume of 500,000 euros are supported with a non-repayable one-time grant of up to 15% of the eligible investment costs, with a maximum funding amount of 2 million euros achievable. This measure aims to strengthen grassroots sports, stimulate the regional leisure economy, and sustainably enhance the quality of life in Tyrol. Eligible applicants are municipalities, municipal associations, tourism associations, as well as clubs and legal entities whose shares are at least 50% publicly governed and which operate on a non-profit basis.
Investments in sports infrastructure facilities that can flexibly respond to different usage requirements and meet contemporary standards according to the Sports Facilities Strategy Plan are funded. In addition to construction measures, the funding framework also includes equipment investments, enabling the realization of modern training and competition facilities. A prerequisite for funding is compliance with the Infrastructure Funding Guidelines, timely submission of the application form, and the accounting forms. The submission deadline is December 31, 2027. Projects are evaluated based on regional relevance, multifunctional orientation, and sustainable impact on athletes and the population. This initiative aims to create the foundation for future-proof sports offerings, increase health and recreational value, and provide a strong long-term impetus for infrastructure development in rural areas. Interested organizations can find detailed information on application procedures and funding requirements at the Department of Economic Development of the State of Tyrol.
