Description
The ESF federal program “rückenwind³ for diversity, change, and future viability in the social economy” supports nonprofit social economy organizations nationwide in developing and testing modern work and organizational concepts. The focus is on exemplary projects for personnel and organizational development as well as cultural change in social services and institutions. The funding period is up to 36 months, with a grant rate of up to 70% of eligible costs. Total expenditures of up to €1.2 million per project are possible, with grants generally amounting to up to €840,000. The goal is to make work structures attractive and future-proof, further develop competencies, and secure skilled personnel.
Particularly supported are projects that strengthen equal opportunities and inclusion, implement analog and digital strategies for personnel recruitment and development, and realize sustainable concepts for an inclusive working environment. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations belonging to one of the six umbrella associations of independent welfare organizations or other nonprofit organizations in the field of social work. A prerequisite is alignment with defined fields of action, taking into account equality, anti-discrimination, and ecological sustainability. A consortium project may include up to four subprojects that operate under collective agreements and demonstrate their overall financing. The cooperation is governed by a written agreement. A two-stage process with a declaration of interest followed by an application submission via the funding portal Z-EU-S initiates the selection process. Thus, the program offers comprehensive support for future-oriented transformation projects in the social economy.
