Description
The nationwide funding program for experimental housing and urban development supports innovative planning and measures in the fields of urban development & urban renewal as well as infrastructure. Initiators from universities, institutes, companies, and other research institutions can launch model projects that are scientifically accompanied. In addition to supporting planning and construction projects, expert reports are prepared, initiatives and professional events are organized, and best practices are comprehensively documented. Through the systematic evaluation of the insights gained, a valuable contribution is made to the further development of housing and urban policy strategies and to sustainable knowledge transfer into practice.
Funding is provided exclusively as a grant, which depending on the call can cover up to 100 percent of eligible expenses. Applications must be submitted in coordination with the respective federal state and involve relevant stakeholders from housing and urban development. Approval is granted within the framework of separate calls, the deadlines of which are announced individually. Interested initiators can obtain detailed information and submission modalities from the responsible Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development, which manages the program on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building. By combining research, practice, and interdisciplinary exchange, the program makes a valuable contribution to the innovative design of forward-looking settlement structures.
