Description

The Skilled Worker/Vocational Training Programs (FLA) support commercial temporary employment agencies throughout Austria in preparing temporary workers for the extraordinary final apprenticeship examination alongside their employment. The focus is on metal and electrical engineering; additionally, training positions in other commercial specialties, such as operations logistics or office professions, are possible. Each year, 200 places are available, granted as subsidies for course, examination, and material costs as well as wage and salary expenses. The training lasts twelve months and can be applied for by companies from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026, provided that social and continuing education fund contributions have been paid on time.

Eligible for funding are temporary employment agencies with at least one temporary worker in an uninterrupted employment relationship throughout the entire training period. Registration in the SWF online portal and full payment of the social contributions according to § 22d AÜG are prerequisites. Applications must be submitted within six months after completion of the training. Required documents include company register excerpt and trade license (for first-time registration), offer and invoice documents from the educational institution, employment contract, and temporary employment notification according to § 12 AÜG, survey form, proof of payment, participation certificates, and the final apprenticeship examination certificate. Optionally, practical experience records, wage or salary slips, justifications for e-learning or exceeding funding limits, as well as a de minimis declaration and a certificate of no objection from the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) may be submitted. The objective of this measure is to increase the skilled labor quota and improve labor market participation through qualified apprenticeship completions.
