Description
The funding program "Special Initiatives" (RL BesIn/2021) of the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMUL) supports innovative projects in the fields of environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, as well as agriculture and rural development. Carriers of non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, public and educational institutions, as well as interest groups and associations, can apply for financial grants in the Free State of Saxony. The guideline aims to promote exemplary projects to improve the ecological footprint, preserve biodiversity, and sustainably strengthen rural areas. By combining environmental, nature, and climate protection measures, long-term effects for climate resilience and regional value creation are to be achieved.
The program continuously offers funding opportunities for initiatives and municipal institutions based or active in Saxony. Projects that make a verifiable contribution to energy efficiency, resource conservation, or nature-oriented land management are supported. Applicants can receive grants for the planning and implementation phases of their projects. Selection is based on the professional quality, regional significance, and degree of innovation of the proposed measures. In particular, cooperation between multiple actors from the environmental, agricultural, and educational sectors is encouraged. Through transparent procedures and close support by the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG), it is ensured that the funded initiatives contribute to the sustainable progress of the Free State of Saxony.
