Funding Guideline Special Initiatives (RL BesIn/2021)

The funding guideline Special Initiatives (RL BesIn/2021) of the Free State of Saxony supports innovative projects in agriculture and rural development, smart cities & regions, regional development, as well as digitalization. Measures in agriculture and forestry, aquaculture, environmental, nature and climate protection, as well as the energy sector, are funded with grants ranging from 80% to 100% (for climate and species protection measures). The funding amounts vary between €4,000 and €300,000. Applications must be submitted to the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) before the start of the measure; institutional funding applications from associations can be submitted continuously. The current call is dated June 16, 2025. A prerequisite for funding is that the project sponsors are natural or legal persons under public or private law and are not legally obliged to carry out the measure. Furthermore, all findings obtained must be made fully accessible to the Free State of Saxony, and companies in difficulty are excluded from the guideline.

With RL BesIn/2021, the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMUL) aims to promote projects of special significance as well as to ensure the institutional funding of ongoing activities of associations. The measure targets a sustainable strengthening of biodiversity, improvement of water quality, organic farming, integrated forestry, climate protection measures, and regional value creation. For the application, the application form FRL BesIn/2021, the De-minimis information sheet, and the De-minimis declaration of the beneficiary are required. Interested companies, municipalities, and public institutions thus receive reliable financial support for projects that shape rural areas sustainably and contribute to nature and climate protection.
