Description
In Schleswig-Holstein, the state supports districts, independent cities, as well as municipal and regional companies with a time-limited, sustainable land management program. The goal is to reduce the daily new land consumption for housing, commerce, and transport to below 1.3 hectares per day by 2030. Strategic approaches such as space-saving construction, activation of building gaps, and recycling of fallow land are funded. The grant supports personnel and material costs of municipal land managers in the fields of environmental and nature conservation, urban development & urban renewal, energy efficiency & climate protection, as well as infrastructure & urban planning. Applications must be submitted before the start of measures by 31.12.2026.
The funding covers a project duration of 24 to 60 months and amounts to a maximum of €320,000 per grant recipient. The funding rate is up to 90% in the first two years, 75% in the third year, and 50% of eligible costs in the fourth and fifth years. These costs include personnel expenses, ancillary personnel costs, travel expenses, information technology, project-related public relations, as well as proportional expenses for management and administration. Eligible to apply are municipalities that can demonstrate secured overall financing; existing positions or already established projects are excluded, and only one personnel position per district or independent city is eligible for funding. For the application, a grant application, a project description, a financing plan, and proof of secured overall financing are required. This funding instrument makes an important contribution to sustainable spatial development in Schleswig-Holstein.
