Description

The Umverteilen! Foundation for a Solidary World supports independent, clearly time-limited educational, informational, and public relations projects throughout Germany with the working group “One World – Here!”. Funding is provided for initiatives that address global political contexts, poverty issues, and critical approaches to racism, and contribute to the networking of civil society actors. Small, grassroots initiatives with limited funding needs are considered alongside innovative project components that highlight the responsibility of Germany and other industrialized countries for global inequalities. Funding is granted as a subsidy with a funding rate of up to 75%, provided that at least 25% of the total costs are covered by own funds or in-kind contributions. Travel costs from “here to there” are excluded; return trips (“there to here”) can be reimbursed up to 50%.

Eligible recipients are non-profit organizations, associations, interest groups, and public institutions engaged in development policy work within Germany. Applications can be submitted at any time: required are the form “Project Brief Info AG One World – Here!”, a tabular record of other funders, and proof of own contribution. Evaluation criteria include, among others, radicalism and grassroots proximity, the presence of co-financing partners, as well as the clear temporal structure of the project. Ongoing funding, book projects (only in exceptional cases), and travel costs from Germany to the project area are not considered. The initiative is aimed at civil society groups that seek to strengthen awareness of global justice in Germany and neighboring countries through their work.
