Description
The program “Promotion of Aquaculture and Inland Fisheries (EMFAF)” supports established and emerging aquaculture and inland fisheries enterprises in Brandenburg and Berlin. Funding is provided for productive investments in modern equipment, stocking measures including scientific monitoring, as well as measures to increase energy efficiency and improve infrastructure. Specifically, in carp pond management, the program rewards environmentally friendly pond maintenance measures (Maintenance Plan A) and targeted species and habitat protection measures (Maintenance Plan B). Grants ranging from 40% to 100% of eligible expenses strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, promote the development of innovative processes, and contribute to the long-term stabilization of the inland fisheries and aquaculture sector. Entrepreneurs of all sizes, non-profit organizations, and public institutions based in Brandenburg can submit their applications annually by October 31 via the digital application system of the LELF.
A comprehensive cost and financing plan, proof of professional competence, as well as project-related indicators for energy efficiency and biodiversity are part of the application documents. The proof of use must be submitted by March 31 of the following year. By linking research, information campaigns, and environmental services, the program makes an important contribution to climate and nature conservation. Applicants are advised to contact the granting authority of the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation (LELF) prior to submission to utilize advisory and support services and to optimally align their project with the funding criteria of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
