Description
The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) specifically supports small and very small enterprises as well as their legal associations in the field of aquaculture and inland fisheries in Berlin and Brandenburg. With funding rates between 40% and 100%, investment measures are promoted that bring about lasting structural improvements and contribute to the economic stabilization of the sector. Investments in equipment, infrastructure, processing, and direct marketing are equally emphasized, as are stocking and accompanying research measures as well as environmental services in carp pond farming. The guideline is valid until December 31, 2029, and applications can be submitted continuously. A prerequisite is a total investment of a maximum of €200,000, excluding research projects and special stocking measures, and the implementation of the project within the funding area.
Furthermore, technical modernizations to improve energy efficiency, measures to adapt to climate change, as well as cross-company information and communication campaigns are funded. Selected public institutions can also apply for research projects within this program that develop innovative solutions for inland fisheries and aquaculture. By combining investment and research projects, a holistic approach is created that links ecological aspects with economic benefits. Interested companies and institutions in Berlin and Brandenburg receive comprehensive support in preparing applications via the digital funding portal; only projects with a permanent commitment within the funding area are eligible for funding. This funding offer makes a significant contribution to the sustainable development of regional inland fisheries and strengthens the local value chains.
