Funding of the ASBH Hamburg Foundation (Project financing from foundation revenues)

The ASBH Hamburg Foundation supports charitable projects in the Hamburg region with the proceeds from its endowment capital. These projects permanently secure counseling services, recreational activities, and other support services for people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus as well as their relatives. Funding is provided to civil society organizations, public institutions, and foundations engaged in charitable activities. The goal is to empower affected individuals and their families through psychosocial and medical counseling, rehabilitation, leisure, and self-help initiatives, thereby enabling a self-determined life in the long term. Applications for project funding can be submitted to the foundation’s board at any time and are reviewed on a project-specific basis. Selection is made according to the principle of economical and purpose-bound use of funds in accordance with the provisions of the Fiscal Code.

The foundation supports initiatives in the fields of health, social participation, child and youth promotion, as well as engagement for social cohesion and democracy. In particular, counseling centers are secured in their existence, inclusive recreational activities are organized, and information services on rehabilitation and inclusion are expanded. Through continuous additional donations, the financial volume can be increased, thereby expanding the scope of impact. Only charitable organizations are eligible for funding and may submit their applications without deadline restrictions. The foundation’s board jointly decides on the allocation of grants and ensures that all funding measures are implemented sustainably and in accordance with the foundation’s purposes.
