Description
The promotion of extracurricular child and youth work in Vienna is aimed at non-profit organizations that provide young people with low-threshold, consumption-free spaces and times for self-determined leisure activities. Projects with a preventive character enhance the quality of life of children and adolescents, strengthen their awareness of democracy, and encourage participation in the urban environment. The focus is on open offerings where play, sports, and creative activities have as much space as community actions to strengthen social cohesion. Involvement of the target group as well as the development of individual interests and skills are considered just as important as the promotion of voluntary engagement through youth organizations and local initiatives. Applications can be submitted continuously by all non-profit associations, companies, and legal entities based in Vienna.
Funding is provided for personnel costs for educational staff, material costs (materials, equipment), room rental, as well as training and supervision. Expenses for real estate acquisitions, debt repayment, or fines are not permitted. A realistic project budget, content relevance to the City of Vienna, and agreement to the funding guidelines with ID Austria or a declaration of consent are prerequisites. To apply, among other documents, the financial plan, the form for the factual report, declaration of consent, association statutes and register excerpt, as well as a copy of a photo ID must be submitted. After positive review by the Municipal Department for Education and Youth (MA 13), approval is granted via a funding contract, disbursement is made according to installment plans—depending on the funding amount—and accounting is done online. Through regular reports and evidence, the City of Vienna ensures that the funds are used sparingly, purposefully, and efficiently for the benefit of children and adolescents.
