Support for the Calenberger Diakonie Foundation

The Calenberger Diakoniestiftung supports diaconal and social initiatives within the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Ronnenberg (Lower Saxony region) with annual grants. Non-profit organizations and public institutions engaged in diaconal work within the church district may submit funding applications on an ongoing basis. Both capital project costs and personnel expenses for existing and new diaconal services are eligible for funding. The foundation’s goal is to sustainably secure the diversity of neighborly love and to provide expert support to people in distress. The foundation was endowed with initial capital of €125,000; the interest income flows directly into diaconal projects, institutions, and personnel positions.

The funds can be flexibly used to finance project initiatives in church congregations, diaconal institutions, or for personnel resources, aiming to strengthen aid services, counseling, and volunteer engagement in the long term. A prerequisite for funding is established diaconal activity within the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Ronnenberg. Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed by the board of trustees, which decides on the allocation of funds in accordance with the statutes. Additional endowments can increase the foundation’s capital and expand its social impact within the church district. Thus, the Calenberger Diakoniestiftung contributes to equipping diaconal projects for the future and preserving the dignity of vulnerable individuals.
