Funding of the Dr. Gabriele Ruge Foundation

The Dr. Gabriele Ruge Foundation supports charitable projects, private initiatives, and public institutions in Wilhelmshaven, Friesland, and East Frisia that are dedicated to assisting children with leukemia or cancer and their families. Funding is provided for diagnostic and therapeutic measures, rehabilitation and recovery, psychosocial support, as well as the equipment of therapy facilities. The support is granted as financial contributions in the form of subsidies and is continuously available. Prerequisites include a project orientation in accordance with the foundation’s purpose, a clear regional connection, and demonstrated need of the beneficiaries. In this way, comprehensive care for those affected is ensured, and everyday life during and after the illness is eased.

Evaluation is based on alignment with the foundation’s purpose, the regional connection to Wilhelmshaven, Friesland, or East Frisia, and the applicants’ neediness. Eligible expenses include diagnostic measures, therapy, rehabilitation, psychosocial support, as well as the technical and spatial improvement of facilities. Applications may be submitted to the foundation’s board at any time, allowing for consideration of both spontaneous and long-term planned projects. Through the continuous allocation of funds, the foundation makes a sustainable contribution to improving the quality of life of sick children and relieving their families in the region.
