Description

The Dr. Senckenberg Foundation continuously supports scientific and medical projects in Hesse aimed at improving the healthcare of the residents of Frankfurt am Main. Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public bodies, as well as private individuals and researchers, may apply for grants to implement research projects, medical training, and infrastructural measures. Approved funds are exclusively allocated to projects related to scientific medicine and must be carried out within the city of Frankfurt am Main. The Foundation values close collaboration with applicants and expects the publication of project results as well as support in public relations activities. Contract research is excluded.

Interested applicants submit a concise project description (max. 300 words), a cost and financing plan, and a work program, along with information on previous experience, the desired funding period, and the requested amount. Additionally, evidence of overall financing, the current state of research, and – for legal entities – statutes or an extract from the register must be provided. Funding decisions are generally made once a year; individual case assessments are possible during the year. Selection criteria include relevance to the Foundation’s purpose, scientific quality, feasibility of the concept, and provision of results for the public. Upon positive decision, funds can be accessed promptly, provided that funds are used economically and interim and final reports are submitted on time.
