Description
The EDEN FOUNDATION for the Promotion of Natural Lifestyle and Health Care supports non-profit organizations, public and private educational institutions, as well as tax-exempt research institutions in Germany and Austria. Grants are provided for research and educational projects in the fields of whole food nutrition, vegetarianism, ecology, organic agriculture and horticulture, as well as naturopathy/holistic medicine. Funding applications can be submitted electronically in German at any time; the next decision date is May 8, 2026. Funding for already completed projects is excluded; ongoing projects are supported only in exceptional cases. It is possible to apply for partial funding, provided additional co-financing can be demonstrated. Individuals are considered exclusively within the framework of scholarships.
Eligible expenses include costs for equipment, room rentals, personnel expenses, and other material costs; overhead and program flat rates are not eligible for funding. A prerequisite for a grant is the submission of a completed short application form along with the full PDF application documents. In the event of a positive funding decision, proof of tax exemption must be provided. Application guidelines provide detailed instructions on the application process and the content structure of the project proposal. The EDEN FOUNDATION usually convenes twice a year and decides on submitted applications four weeks before the respective board meeting.
