Description
The state of Salzburg supports employers in the social and health sectors with a 100% subsidy for the reimbursement of extraordinary salary increases for their nursing and care staff during the period from 01.01.2026 to 30.06.2026. Funding is provided up to €205 gross monthly per full-time equivalent (including employer contributions), calculated proportionally for part-time employment as well as for entry or exit during the funding period. The subsidy is paid out in six monthly installments and benefits all professional groups of nursing and care staff as defined in the Nursing Fund Act (PFG), including health and nursing care, nursing specialists, nursing assistants, as well as diploma and specialist social carers and home helpers. Temporary agency workers employed under leasing contracts are treated equally. Applications must be submitted by 09.10.2026 at the latest to the Department of Social Affairs or the Department of Hospitals and Healthcare, separately for each institution.
Eligible for funding are companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions operating hospitals, long-term care facilities, mobile care and support services, facilities for disabled persons, or rehabilitation centers. In addition to the funding application, detailed listings of the eligible employees (including employee number, gender, and actual costs), total numbers by gender, full-time equivalents and professional groups, sums of salary increases, as well as a mandatory declaration from the authorized representative regarding the disbursement and compliance with funding requirements must be attached. The processing follows the general funding guidelines of the state of Salzburg and the provisions of the Nursing Fund Act.
