Description
The Evangelical Lutheran St. Margarethen Foundation in Gyhum consistently uses the proceeds from its endowment capital to strengthen the diverse local community life. It supports worship services of all kinds with financial grants – from family and festival services to outdoor devotions – as well as church music projects such as organ music, church and trombone choirs, flute groups, spontaneous choirs, and concerts. Furthermore, the foundation promotes diaconal services, including pastoral care, counseling, accompaniment, and visitation services, and contributes to the maintenance of the church, parsonage, and community center. A special focus lies on children and youth work: Kids Club, youth groups, confirmation classes, retreats, and group activities are made possible and further developed through the annual proceeds.
Eligible for funding are public institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations, especially the local groups and circles of the church community, as well as volunteers and young people actively participating in community offerings. Applications for project or infrastructure grants can be submitted continuously to the foundation board, as there are no fixed deadlines. The goal is to secure the continuation and further development of church work in Gyhum in the long term and to enable a vibrant community for all interested parties. Through this sustainable financing, not only current activities are strengthened, but future generations are also encouraged to explore new paths in faith and community.
