Funding by the Horst Rohde Foundation

The Horst Rohde Foundation was established in 1996 to strengthen the positive interaction between humans and animals in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a member of the Association of German Foundations, it operates exclusively on a non-profit basis and continuously provides sponsorship funds. Projects supported include those in the field of animal-assisted therapies as well as initiatives in animal, environmental, and climate protection, energy efficiency, sports, culture & media, and charitable purposes. All donations flow directly into project work, thereby achieving sustainable effects in the regional environment. A transparent allocation system ensures timely support for foundations, interest groups, associations, and other non-profit organizations. The goal is to implement innovative concepts and set long-term impulses for harmonious coexistence.

Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, foundations, associations, or interest groups whose projects pursue animal-assisted therapies, animal, environmental or climate protection, sports, energy efficiency, cultural and media work, or charitable purposes. A prerequisite for funding is a clear non-profit objective as well as a local focus or impact within the greater North Rhine-Westphalia area. Due to ongoing funding opportunities, project applications can be submitted at any time as there are no fixed deadlines. The selection process considers professional quality, environmental and social compatibility, as well as the overall societal benefit. Through cooperative support and transparent allocation of funds, the Horst Rohde Foundation assists applicants in effectively implementing forward-looking projects and sustainably promoting regional cohesion.
